Massachusetts Pregnant and Parenting Teen Initiative

Massachusetts Pregnant and Parenting Teen Initiative (MPPTI) provides comprehensive support for pregnant or parenting young adults (male and female) between 14 to 25 years old.

This is a FREE program for all who qualify

Who qualifies?
Pregnant and parenting young adults (male and female) 14 to 25 years old in New Bedford

Our team helps young parents deciding how to get from where they are to where they want to go. We also help parents connect to resources in five core domains:

  • Personal Health
    • Reproductive health
    • Mental and behavioral health
    • Social and emotional well being

  • Child Health
    • Early childhood education-Head Start/Child Care
    • Well child visits
    • Nutrition counseling and services
    • Mental and behavioral health

  • Self-sufficiency, education and employment
    • Job placement
    • School connectedness
    • College planning and readiness
    • Academic supports

  • Concrete supports
    • Benefits-supplemental supports (WIC, SNAP, TANF)
    • Transportation supports
    • Child needs (diapers, formula, car seats, cribs, etc.)

  • Parenting Support
    • Communication Skills
    • Parenting education and resources (including co-parenting)
    • Stress management support

MPPTI serves expectant and parenting teens in multiple primary settings, such as high schools, community service agencies, institutions of higher education, home settings. Any natural environment that is comfortable for the participant.
